Fourth graders at Narragansett Elementary School both wrote and illustrated this book. First, students learned about New England colonial artifacts in social studies. Then, students created the illustrations after studying the children's story illustrations by Steven Jenkins. All illustrations are made entirely will collage paper. Finally, students wrote about their artifact to describe their illustration for the book.
