À propos du livre
The memoir, apart from the last chapter on acupuncture, ended in 1949. Uncle David suggested that we share recollections of Grandfather from 1949 to 1982, as his life in China and his life after China could not have been more different.
Chapter 11, therefore, comprises selected memories from Grandpa’s children and grandchildren. Along the way, we invited Uncle Edward (Qinrong) and Aunt Joyce to contribute recollections of Grandpa’s 1981 return visit to his beloved China, alluded to in Chapter 9. We are delighted that Uncles Franklin (Qinyi) and George (Qinfu) also contributed memories triggered by Grandpa’s memoir. And we are happy to include my mom’s writings that are drawn from assorted pieces from her notebooks and files compiled by son Alex (Chou).
We honor Xi Yushi’s memory by publishing his memoir as a loving legacy to all his descendants.

À propos du créateur
Pauline Yen Ho was born in the United States to Chinese parents, raised in Hong Kong and Brazil, and educated in Brazil and US, making her—as she calls it—a citizen of the world. Before her retirement in 2010, she spent more than 37 years at Johnson & Johnson, where she was one of the first emerging market executives to run a global franchise for a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. She was widely recognized for her passion to mentor and develop talent around the world. As a happy grandmother, Pauline lives in Bridgewater, New Jersey with her husband Alex and daughter Tatiana, and spends her time writing, reading, cooking, knitting, singing in the church choir, but most of all enjoying time with her beloved family, especially her three little granddaughters.
