À propos du livre
This Digest presents a 90th Year History perspective for Lodge Capitol Number 612. This Lodge was the second Masonic Lodge in Canberra and was consecrated in 1927. This Digest includes preliminary history on the expansion of Masonry in the Canberra and Southern Tableland New South Wales Region. The Digest draws on many sources. For the early history it relies heavily on: the research of local masonic historian, Right Worshipful Brother Robert J. Linford, Right Worshipful Brother Jack M Firth from Lodge Queanbeyan St. Andrew No. 56, and United Grand Lodge Historians Worshipful Brother Karl R Cramp OBE, and George Macaness OBE. The Digest presents many highlights from the Souvenir Booklet Lodge Capitol No. 612: The First Fifty Years 1927-1977 written and edited by Very Worshipful Brother Vic T Chapman, and also A History of Lodge Capitol 1927-2007, by Brother Philip Purcell. The later released 21 March 2009 on the occasion of the 1000th meeting of Lodge Capitol, at the Queanbeyan Masonic Centre. A significant portion of the Digest tells stories about life in the lodge, particularly the most recent 15 years. Heavy use is made of notice papers, our Capital Capers magazine (Right Worshipful Brother J G E (Geoff) Ludowyk Editor), and photos and articles supplied by current members.
