This book series documents my personal photo journal of memorable and dramatic machines, drivers and race venues.



My first sight of a Formula One car was Peter Revson sliding sideways at over 100 mph through the off-camber turn 2, practising for the 1973 Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport. Spinning off-track into a gully, he emerged unhurt and went on to win the Canadian Grand Prix that year. Sadly, Revson was killed the following year in a racing accident at Kyalami , South Africa - an event all too common in those dangerous years.



In 1974 I was back with a camera ... resulting in one of the photos included in this edition.. It's the gorgeous #16 UOP Shadown driven by Tom Pryce - Peter Revson's replacement on the Shadow F1 team. Ironically, Pryce was killed in 1977, in an accident at the same track that claimed the life of Revson.



Many years later I picked up the hobby again, this time more seriously. This edition of SPEED - A Personal Photo Journal, documents ALMS, CART (Ipredecessor to CHAMP Cars), Grand-Am, Vintage and NASCAR racing from 2001 through 2004. The photos were taken at Mosport, Watkins Glen and Toronto - all classic road racing or street courses.



In sharing these memories, I hope you feel the fury and passion of the sport that inspires me. And the incredible talent and dedication of those who push their cars and lives to the limit to experience the pure joy of SPEED.
