“Into the Shadows” is a children’s illustrated book that takes you into a dark and playful world.

Each page you open is a unique character with their own story to tell. By showing a world in silhouettes, anyone can identify with these characters. One of the goals in making this book was to encourage children, (and adults) to face scary things and this book is meant to be a playful way to do so. Sometimes you have to look into the darkness to find the light.

Joseph E. Holeman is a visual artist and awesome dad living in Berkeley, California. Some of his inspiration comes from Dr. Seuss, Tim Burton, Shel Silverstein and of course his family. Having two kids inspired Joseph to finally illustrate and write a children’s book that he always wanted to make.
