This is a family history which features a diary from 1944 and letters from 1966 that give a window into life in eastern Nebraska during these times. Delphine was Chicago girl who came to Nebraska after getting hit by a car and suffering months of rehab. She was homesick but had to stay in Nebraska for 9 years before going back to become an Army Cadet nurse. This unlikely love story with Raymond Glenn Kresha, Sr, a Polk County farmer, resulted in 6 children and over a dozen grandchildren.
