This is Alina's story: born in Ukraine, deaf, Gypsie, and orphaned at age three. No one knew she was deaf until just prior to her seventh birthday, when she began a journey from Ukraine to the United States, from hopelessness to hope, and from silence to sound. Continually full of joy, despite the circumstance, she is an inspiration, displaying resiliency, hope, courage, and joy far beyond her years and experience.
