À propos du livre
In March of 1933, the nation was in the worst depression that it had ever had. Millions of people were unemployed and the economy was in turmoil. President Franklin D. Roosevelt knew that something radical was needed to get the country moving again. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was created by the FDR administration to fight against the great depression. The goal of the CCC was to get young men jobs, improve the nations infrastructure (forest), and jump start the economy. This is the journey of those men, and a specific area that a tremendous amount of work was completed: the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in a historical guide.
