À propos du livre
In this series of Black and White Infrared digital photographs, I am probing the edges of what we can experience empirically, plumbing the mysteries beyond the known. Infrared is a spectrum beyond which the human eye normally sees, and these images suggest something beyond the seen, in the unseen. These images balance on the liminal, in a place between dream and reality.

À propos du créateur
Zohra Kalinkowitz has had numerous exhibitions in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationally. With a background in both photography and painting, she produces work that is a hybrid of the two. While the images are photographic, her process of working on them is fluid and painterly. She combines the compositional sensibility of the painter, the technical precision of the camera, and the flexibility of the digital medium to create images that compel the viewer to look beyond surface reality. Her work explores how the natural world communicates spiritual vision through beauty, asking the viewer to look more closely and see more sensitively. What we see transforms what we know. But also what we know changes what we see.
