Augustus Butera began defining his visual expression around the age of seventeen while visiting Italy for the first time. While in Rome he discovered his love of light, color and space thru the lens of his Pentax Me Super. Shortly after finishing high school, he traveled with his camera cross-country where he focused on structure, balance, and captured the simple beauty of un-retouched nature. After starting his own photography business in New York City, Augustus became an in demand photographer with leading magazine editors and high end companies specializing in children and families. Taking the aesthetic of his early years he incorporated the intimacy and the action of what he learned to produce images that have brought him recognition from the Communication Arts magazine and Photo District News. Clients include, Proctor and Gamble, Hyatt, VISA and Disney.
