Walking into P&L Taylor is entering into an establishment that can be surely assumed to not have changed since opening in 1980. The proprietor, Paul, has forgone the modernization that we see in chain garages. Instead there are old, well used tools along with shelves stacked with spark plugs, nuts and bolts. His work space is traditional and proper, the garage is geared to fix, not to replace parts.

This book celebrates not only Paul but the craft and trade that so many still do with traditional methods, choosing hard work and labour over the ideologies of cheap and quick consumerism that we see taking over our lives.
