Once upon a time, there were three Rottweilers named Trixie, Hottie and Baxter. They lived with their human companions, Darling and Honeybun, in a house in the Hollywood Hills. Tonight, the night air is filled with smells, not all of them nice. The Rotties have caught a whiff of something that is about to lead them on their next adventure.

It was dark in the garden this evening. Trixie, Hottie, Baxter and the old tortoise, Tut, peered down into the watery depths of pool. The lamps mysteriously flickered and plunged them into darkness. Something seemed to be swimming in the moonlight but nobody was there! Baxter's nose was in action, working to separate all the strange and ominous scents carried on the night wind.

“We have to remember,” mused Baxter, “the Mean Coyotes come out when night falls.”
“Oh, B, don't say that!” Hottie was aghast.

The Rotties were prepared to defend, but who or what was lurking in those shadows of the night?
