“Chris Spollen Teacher, sculptor, photographer, cyclist, inventor, Chris Spollen ’74 has a unique joie-de-vivre that defines his personality and his work. Says Chris, “So far I have had a rich life and the journey is still ongoing with great bliss.” He credits much of his success to his experience at Parsons, where he was “exposed to many working professionals interested in different disciplines. I knew then that art was the path that I wanted to pursue.” For the last nine years, Chris has channeled his passion and enthusiasm into the classroom, teaching young artists computer skills and new ways of seeing the world. “Being around young creatives keeps me vital. It’s a joy to coach the next generation of artists.” When Chris is not teaching he can often be found creating sculptures from recycled materials, which he photographs and places on backgrounds that he generates on the computer.
