Drafted is a compilation of all my diary entries, stories, and memories while I was assigned to A, D, and E Companies as a Forward Observer for the Mortar Platoons during my thirteen-month tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Being born to a Navy family, I never got the chance to put my roots down in any one town. We had driven across the US four times before I was eight years old. I always liked exploring and hiking since I was just a kid. Individual sports came naturally to me, and I became a pretty good surfer and an excellent water and snow skier. I met my wonderful wife Carin in 1971 at Magic Mountain, Ca. We are still married to this day and enjoy spending time with our daughter Kelly and her husband Mike, our son Matt and his wife Amanda, and our two grand kids, Ryan and Madison. I currently live in Mesa, Arizona where I work as the estimating engineer for a Tier-1 Aerospace manufacturer.
