À propos du livre
The first in a series of three photography books, "Brooks Williams 1" focuses on Williams' fragmented urban landscapes. "Brooks Williams 2" includes his floral series and "Brooks Williams 3", his landscape series.
Brooks Williams’ photography is informed by his 30 year electronic music background. He uses the computer much as an audio synthesizer, that is, to process visual samples that he has collected through the lens of his camera.
For more than 25 year Brooks has worked in his New York studio, Harmonic Ranch, www.harmonicranch.com, as a composer, sound-designer, and audio engineer. Brooks creates, edits, mixes, and designs audio and music for film, dance, television, multi-media installations, and performances.
Through his studio, Harmonic Ranch, Brooks has worked with a diverse group of artists and organizations such as Shelly Hirsch, John Cage, Christian Marclay, Zeena Parkins, Ikue Mori, Jem Cohen, LaMonte Young, David Simons, History of Unheard Music (HUM), Wooster Group, Dia Foundation, MOMA, New Museum, The Audubon Society among others.
