À propos du livre
Emma Bass is an artist who resides in New Zealand. Her current series of flower studies muses on the temporality of life. Floral art is not regarded seriously, but Bass makes an important statement by reminding us that flowers are not only beautiful to look at but also wilt, fade and die. As we all do.These floral compositions in vintage vases show the subtle beauty of degeneration, with petals falling and stems drooping. In all of Bass’ images, whether baroque or austere, the viewer is left to ponder what the nature of beauty really is.
