À propos du livre
The sequel to "SHOOT FROM THE HIP - Memories of a small town..."
The one sad thing about small towns like Levack is that people leave them and strike out into the world for fame and fortune. This is nothing new – it has been happening for centuries. People leave the land and smallville and head for the big cities, where they hope opportunities abound. The plain fact of life is that opportunities are limited in small towns. In the case of Levack, you had to leave unless you wanted to become a miner.
Whether we were forced to go reluctantly, or did so willingly with hardly a glance in the rearview mirror, many of us left Levack to seek what we hoped would be a better life elsewhere. So this new book is about leaving, the process of leaving and the emotions involved in doing so. But I hope it will also be about “going back”, because contrary to what they say, you can go back!
