I started painting rather late in life with classes at the River Gallery School in Brattleboro, Vermont. There, I discovered an interest in portraiture. Since then, I’ve studied portrait painting with Ric Campman, Lydia Thompson, Gregory Maichak and Jason Alden. Images of children have often figured in my work. My paintings have appeared in juried art shows in Keene, N.H. & Springfield, Mass. I have had three solo exhibits. Many paintings are in private collections. -- Evelyn McLean
