À propos du livre
Port Klang stands on the Klang river and is close to becoming an outlying district of Kuala Lumpur as the city grows in fits and bounds. Although even with the rapid urbanisation of the surrounding area of Klang there are still wide expanses of farmland that are left to farming use. The distance to Kuala Lumpur is a mere 30 kilometers and is accessible by a direct highway route since there has been considerable investment into the infrastructure in the Klang area. The Klang area is well renowned for its tin mining and makes some of the highest quality pewter in the world.
Port Klang also has the three biggest container points in Malaysia with a capacity in excess of one hundred million tons of cargo, making it the country's main import and export hub. Port Klang has connections with over 120 different countries and 500 different ports. Port Klang was previously known as Port Swettenham under colonial rule after Frank Swettenham who proposed and instigated the first rail link between Kuala Lumpur and Klang.
