À propos du livre
What does it mean to be an artist? An artist of any kind, painter, graphic designer, musician, photographer on anything else. Does someone have to create something to be considered an artist? But anyone can create something, if we consider that everyone creates his own scenarios, his own movies in his mind. By this definition everyone is an artist. Or could it be that, maybe that creation has to be something that can be held with one’s hands?
Everyone needs a way to express themselves. Every emotion needs to be let out at some point. Many people over express themselves, and that may make them vulnerable or maybe even a showpiece for other people, and many others suppress what they feel deep inside, many times creating a darker shell for themselves.
Whether we want it or not, it will someday burst out of ourselves, and maybe not at the most appropriate time. Can this expression be called insanity? I know that some people may consider this suppression a living hell, but others may be kind of fascinated with this. Just like a saying goes “My heaven is your hell” or “Your screams are like melody to my ears”.
In this experimentation you are about to see, I tried to how that insanity and horror that can be caused by this suppression. I can only call it an experiment, just because I don’t believe in absolute perfection. I believe that if something ever reaches perfection, then its demise will follow soon after. But hey, one can say that the limit of perfection can be stretched with all these technological progressions, and that brings us once again to what I said earlier about my thoughts on this book. Experimentation. Just like everything.
Everyone deals with the suppression of feelings differently, and I tried to show the dark way to deal with these problems. Not the actual “dark” way, like drugs, alcohol and such, but rather by trying to conceptualize this struggle, by mixing reality, with the state of mind, something like a realistic nightmare.
For me, blood symbolizes all those things that are suppressed inside, but blood can always find a way to get outside, through the mouth, through the ears and even through the pores of out bodies. But above all, I want to believe that everyone can make his own thoughts and reach their own conclusions about what something means, including the photographs that are presented in this book.
