A professional photographer and artist since the 1970,s Carson is a lifetime resident of the beautiful Sequatchie Valley. An artist that specialized in pen and ink drawings of local structures and coal miners. He became interested in photography to readily obtain high quality images of local subject matter; photography became an occupation with the opening of an art and photography studio in Dunlap, TN. The studio was operated jointly by Carson and his wife Joyce. until 1993. Carson served as a mayor and commissioner for six years, he chartered and organized the Sequatchie Valley Historical Association in 1985 and is an active member today. He helped build and operate the areas first history museum. He became a real estate developer and maintains a 190 acre bluff tract above the City of Dunlap. He is currently involved in the opening of a new photograph studio with opening slated in mid 2011. He is developing new ideas for a new book of the Valley
