The photographs in 'Volumes' are meant to celebrate each book's considerable beauty as a physical object while simultaneously exposing, illustrating or commenting on the themes contained within each title, and giving a physical shape to the ineffable qualities each text (whether short story, novel, poem, or legend) brings to the reader.

À propos du créateur
David is a director and visual artist based in California. His work has been shown in Communication Arts, Graphis, Print, The Art Director’s Club, The Society of Publication Designers, and the New Museum of Contemporary Art. Commercials David has directed have won ADDY, BDA, CTAM, PROMAX, New York Festival and TELLY awards, and have been profiled in AdAge, AdWeek, Boards, Millimeter, Shots, & Shoot. He speaks regularly on the subjects of commercials and advertising at UCLA. His artwork has been shown extensively across the United States in shows juried by representatives from the ICP, the Lucie Awards, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and is in collections among such artists as Ansel Adams, John Baldessari, Jim Dine, David Hockney and Edward Weston. Independent projects David directed have aired on Channel 4 Britain, PBS, and USA Networks. David has juried the AICP and Monitor awards. Born in Manhattan, David lives and works in California.
