Discovered at the Premier Diamond Mine South Africa in 1905, the Cullinan Diamond was sold to the Transvaal government for £150,000. The government presented the crystal to His Royal Highness King Edward VII on the occasion of his 66th birthday in November 1907.



The Cullinan I (Star of Africa) was cut into a pear shape then set into the Royal Sceptre.

The Cullinan II was set into the centre-front of the Imperial State Crown of Great Britain.



For more than a century, the Cullinan Diamonds were safely held under lock and key at the infamous Tower of London. That was until one stormy night when a daredevil band of airborne thieves swooped down on their prize...
