Oneiric reflects my interest in the fragmented memories of dreams. I began by photographing the characters and settings in my dreams, which resulted in the diptych images in the first section of this book. The strangeness of each dream made me curious to see how others create stories in their own subconscious. I asked fifty people to recount their most memorable dreams to achieve an unhindered look at their thoughts. I studied whether they dreamt in black and white or color and whether they imagined elaborate scenes or simple ones. The singular images in the book are an interpretation of what people described to me. I make photographs intuitively while studying how my own experiences and aesthetics are shaped by another’s imagination.
