The Interest I have in emulating still life painting through digital photography techniques is primarily a desire to try to recreate the beauty and style of a genre of painting that was once considered the lowest form of expression in the hierarchy of painting and has emerged as both an artistic and elegant commentary and visual document on past civilization and the mentality of the times.
