À propos du livre
In the 1970s, Hope Bagenal wrote a series of letters to his niece, Toby Henderson, entitled Letters to a Niece. In these he retraced his life until 1918 and his Anglo-Irish heritage. They cover his childhood, his days serving as a Sergeant in the RAMC during the First World War, the interesting people he met in Cambridge with his wife Alison during his convalescence there in 1916, his interest in acoustics and his early days as an architect.
Letters to a Brother: The Kamgrad Novel was written 1917 to his brother Nicholas Bagenal at the Front. They are written in the third person in the form of a novel with most of the names Russianised and cover some of the same subject matter as Letters to a Niece but from the perspective of a young man.
