À propos du livre
When I grabbed my digital camera and went out searching for these very special roses, my goal was to portray that intense personal experience with that “wow” bloom that makes us all know why we fell in love with roses (and garden photography) in the first place !
Since I teach gardening with roses, I wanted to show just how awesome organic roses can be, and share this through my photography. It seemed right that if most of these roses were grown naturally or organically, then they should be portrayed in as natural conditions as possible. And that would include photographing most of the blooms under the diverse natural light situations dictated by weather. So, some were even taken in rain or fog or wind. Though this made it a bit harder for me, my reward was to see that the individual light conditions helped create a unique portrait for each and every Rose bloom!

À propos du créateur
Judith Cody is a national award winning poet, author, and photographer who is widely published throughout the United States and abroad. Her visual arts have won awards, and appeared in juried shows. One of her poems and archives is in the Smithsonian Institution’s permanent collection. She is also a rosarian, and she is devoted to teaching organic rose gardening, which led to the idea for this book. She has received a lifetime achievement award from the University of California’s Master Gardener Program. She believes that great pictures of roses need to tell us more. Her poetical style demonstrates this. Photographed by natural light, the photos in this book tell us that this is the breathtaking rose we can still discover in beloved gardens everywhere. These organic roses are ravishing, whether in wind, rain or fog, they seem illuminated with all their historical, and mysterious glory. They are radiant beneath the ever-shifting sunbeams of the seasons.
