À propos du livre
The Vieux Carré (French Quarter) of New Orleans is widely recognized for its bars, parties, music, trendy restaurants, and rowdy business enterprises --- and, of course, the most famous party of the year, Mardi Gras.
People have lived in the Quarter since before the United States was even conceived. French, Spanish, Creole, African, and Colonial American cultures have all contributed to the eclectic mix of structures. Almost all of the surviving 18th century architecture of the Vieux Carré dates from the late 1700's.
What most tourists and visitors to the 'Big Easy' miss are the residential areas on the fringes of the Quarter (yes, people do live in the French Quarter) The Quarter is a concentration of classic vintage homes displaying their vibrant colors, exquisite architectural details, and the many unique & historic construction styles.
In this portfolio I have attempted to capture these often overlooked visual details and assets of the area.
