À propos du livre
Twice a year, the St. Julian's Neighbourhood Committee meets to give residents a chance to voice their concerns, issues and problems.
Representatives from the Council, Police and other authorities are in attendance to give updates on their work and listen to the local people. Priorities are decided and actions assigned. Minutes are taken and revisited six months later.
Often it is the only place residents can bring their problems, and through the minutes I learned about the area, and the people. I came to understand aspects of life in different areas, and could picture everyday life within the locality.
I explored the whole of the ward, carefully following the road boundaries in an attempt to take in everything, using only the minutes as my map and guide. Following the records of the meetings from February 2006 onwards, I visited the places discussed and photographed what I found.
