À propos du livre
"My Japan" is an acknowledgment of my first year living in Japan. I am originally from the US, but I came to fall in love with another country, a country the fell out of line with and, at the same time, lived up to my childhood stereotypes. The Japan of my childhood consisted of only five types of people: Geisha, Samurai, Ninja, Sumo wrestler, and farmer. In my introduction, I explore those preconceived and adolescent notions about Japan while revealing why those stereotypes can still be found in "my japan" of today. While many of the pictures and pages are a well ordered documentation of the wonder of my part of Japan, Miyazaki (in the far and tropical south), some pages are also for pure fun, to memorialize some of my personal experiences and friendships that I had and made along the way. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did making it, and that it can in some way convey my.....passion for the land that taught me about passion.
