À propos du livre
While I may not fit the mold of a traditional car enthusiast, my appreciation for automobiles lies in the subtleties of their design rather than the thrill of driving. This book offers a collection of photographs that capture my personal perspective on cars (and buses), often presenting the subjects in a way that may not be immediately recognizable to the viewer. Rather than showcasing the vehicles in their entire glory from front bumper to rear spoiler, I have mostly focused on individual details—the graceful curves of the body, the gleam of a metal ornament, or the interplay of light and shadow on the paintwork. Sometimes, letters fade away indistinctly, sometimes sharp details stand out, and sometimes everything dissolves into a blur of colour.
As a creative challenge, I exclusively used vintage manual prime lenses originally produced by Pentacon in East Germany for Praktica bayonet cameras. These lenses, adapted for use with digital mirrorless cameras from the Sony Alpha line, lend a distinct character to the photographs. Hence, the title of this book: 'Prosaic Blank Apathy' is an anagram of 'Sony Alpha Praktica-B,' paying homage to the tools that shaped its creation.
