Patchwork is a chronological collection of narrative poems set against the stark beauties of the western Rockies and amid the depression era ranchers and herders who struggled to make their lives there. It tells the coming of age story of Ephraim, his mother and grandmother as they try to make sense of a tragic death. It's also the story of community and the small kindnesses that cauterize grief, that bind and brace a broken family.
