As a first-time writer of a book, my family encouraged me to write about my life as husband, father and grandfather, spanning a time period of some seventy-plus years. During my lifetime, I graduated from the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) with a degree in engineering and worked for almost forty years in construction project management. Life has been exciting rearing five children with my lovely wife Donna, my life-long companion. The joy and love of fourteen grandchildren has been a major source of support in my life as well. I have described my life as student, sports writer for a home town newspaper and the school newspaper, musician, engineer, sports enthusiast, a lover of the outdoors and a person having a strong Christian faith. My lifetime, not unlike that of many others, has been an exciting journey. It is a pleasure to share my experiences with you.
