À propos du livre
In the Spring of 1780, the Hardin Family and many of their kin decided to pack up all their belongings on the Monongahela and make the dangerous trek down the Ohio River to the fertile grounds of Kentucky. On March 1st, 1780, they reached the mouth of the Limestone River near Maysville and were attacked by several groups of Indians from the upper Ohio territory. Many in the group were massacred and Jack Hardin Jr.’s mother and brother, along with others, were captured by the Indians.
Mr. Hardin, through oral histories from his grandparents and other family members, has written an outstanding narrative of what it was like to survive and settle in Kentucky in the late 1700s.
