Curacao

Avantia Damberg lives and works in Curaçao, Dutch Caribbean. BIO Avantia Damberg (Leeuwarden, 1977) graduated in 2007 from the art academy Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in Audiovisual Arts and started her career as a visual artist in 2008. Exhibitions in Amsterdam, Paris, Tallinn, Madrid, Mexico City, and Berlin and Miami followed but Avantia prefers to exhibit as much as possible in Curaçao and in the Caribbean region, making it her new center of contemporary art. Avantia uses video, sculpture, animation and installations and loves to work with texts.
