À propos du livre
A collection of photographs of China, from the days just before China's rapid sprint into modern commercialization. See the warmth, determination, industry and kindness of the people I encountered while backpacking through China 35 years ago. Han Chinese, Tibetans, Bai people of Dali, the Hui of Chengdu. Warmth, pride, kindness, family are common themes across all of these experiences. Yet there was also violent conflict in Lhasa between many Tibetans and the Chinese military, which is also documented in this book. (Note, this book is photos only.)
