Tempus Fugit was originally written in untitled manuscript form in 1988 by Donald W. Cooley.

During his life Don was a politician and dedicated campaigner of workers' rights in Western Australia. In 1985 he was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his services to the Trade Union Movement.
