Kay Smith Tippett graduated from Prattville High School. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Language Arts Education and a Master's of Liberal Arts in English from Auburn University at Montgomery. She and her husband Bert have three adult daughters and are actively involved in their church. Mrs. Tippett is a member of the Alabama Conference of Theatre, and she currently holds the position of secretary for the Central Alabama Performing Arts Guild. She has recently acted in community theatre, expanding her horizons for the sake of improving her pedagogy. Tippett has been actively writing since high school, with two pieces being published in a collegiate magazine. She is the author of _Where_We_Had_Been_, the story of Tom and Daisy Buchanan as told through the eyes of their daughter Pammy.
