À propos du livre
A dream inspired poem that I wrote as a teenager spawned this illustrative and allegorical book. Inspired by my inner perceptions and feelings of hopelessness and angst at the state of the world and my place in it at the time, The Boy and the Moon, takes you on a dream like journey through a dark inner world of a boy struggling to decide whether to go back to his earthly home or stay in solitude on the moon. Each panel is hand painted and depicts the inner journey of this blue boy as he enters an alternative world of visionary contemplation and is whisked away by a flurry of visions and scenes expressing his experiences on earth. Ultimately this book is about the power of hope and overcoming fear and negative emotions as a the boy journeys through the darkness to find the light and his purpose for continuing on in the world. This book is for anyone who has ever felt so low they don't feel like they can continue and has had to go through the "dark night of the soul," to find the light on the other side. An allegory of pain, fear, hopelessness, hope, purpose, and transformation, this book has a spiritual meaning and is meant to make people contemplate the deeper questions in life. Through telling the story of my own psychological and existential struggle to find my way forward through despair, I hope that others can find hope and solace in knowing that in our darkest moments we can transform and grow in ways that allow us to bring more light to the world.
