I have lived in Manhattan for over 30 years. Most all the pictures in this book were taken during the past three. These images are not meant to embody the entire make up of the island nor be a guide book for the tourists who flock here, simply the perceptions that abound when one sets feet on its pavements, traverses the distinct neighborhoods, looking up, sideways and down. This stirs in me an invariable wonderment for the place I call home.
