À propos du livre
Seeded grassland landscapes are highly functioning systems that serve as sustainable habitat for wildlife conservation and they happen to be beautiful gardens of wonder and discovery for humans. This type garden was popularized by Jans Jensen in the late 19th century and then used as important conservation/ restoration tools by pioneering researchers Aldo Leopold and John Curtis of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, back in the 1930's. Their work, which became the basis for the University Arboretum, still exists today and stands as a model for landscaping with prairie meadow/ grassland species. Marc Pastorek has designed, constructed and provided seed for over 250 prairie landscape projects, developing useful techniques for restoring land of less than an acre and up to 400 acres.
