Tiago Petinga was born in Lisbon in 1969, the year Man landed on the Moon.
He studied photography on IPF and ARCO in the Portuguese capital.
After working for three years on the travel and environmental magazines "Descobrir" and "Forum Ambiente", he starts a new career in 1998 as a staff photographer in the Portuguese news agency LUSA.
Tiago followed the crisis of East-Timor and Guinea-Bissau, the earthquake of Haiti, the deployments of Portuguese troops in Afghanistan and Bosnia, and recently the uprising in Libya.
