Jane Autenrieth Chapman was born in Indiana in a January blizzard. Early on, she discovered music and language--two passions which always keep her warm. Chapman studied piano performance at Indiana University and in Salzburg Austria at the Akademie Mozarteum. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Purdue University where, during her master's program, she was a graduate teaching assistant in German. Chapman taught German and Creative Writing for many years at Moorpark College and was a recipient of the Dorothy Daniels Prize for Poetry from the National League of American Pen Women. Her poetry has been published in a wide variety of literary journals, among them: Blue Unicorn, Poetry LA and Spoon River Poetry Review, as well as in two anthologies: New LA Poets and Truth and Lies that Press for Life.
Chapman resides in Westlake Village, CA with her husband Don and their lovable black lab, Java.
