After retiring, Doug and his wife Mary moved to Blowing Rock, NC. Since that time he has developed an interest in Nature Photography that includes both wildlife and landscapes. He has traveled to Iceland, Antarctica, The Falkland Islands, South Georgia, The Galapagos Islands, Patagonia, Italy and Africa.

He has encountered many wonderful people in his travels that have contributed to his personal growth while developing his skills in digital photography. He has a new appreciation for the environment and how delicate the balance is the importance of people working to preserve God’s creation.
