Tom Endicott is the author of this story and many more like it. He began writing Wagglemop stories during the four hours, three nights a week that he spent hooked up to a dialysis machine to support his failing kidneys. He used this time to write stories about a fictional world where his family would have amazing adventures together. These stories were written as a way to keep his family close when he couldn’t be with them. The Wagglemop parents are Papa Ed (Tom) and his wife, LaVerne (based on Tom’s wife, Joan.) The Wagglemop kids are Tilly, Willie (the only girl), Gilly, Philly, Dilly and Chilly. Five boys and one girl in total. His children were very young when he started this series of stories, which he read to them frequently and every time he finished a new one. Now with his children grown and starting families of their own, he hopes his grandchildren and other kids can enjoy these stories as much as his own children did in their youth.
