Betsy is an MFA graduate from Virginia Tech. She was a consistent recipient of the Alfred Knobler Scholarship while attending the three-year Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing. She has taught College-Level English Composition and Research, Ecology Composition, and Creative Writing. She also has significant studies in Biology (BSc), Chemistry (Minor), and Animal Science.

Betsy participates in multiple genres of the visual arts, but currently, her main concentration rests with digital photography, creative digital photography, and digital abstracts.
