Julia Black is a multidisciplinary artist based in St. Louis, Missouri. Her work explores themes of Southern Missouri and the "Hoosier"(white trash) lifestyle from the South Side of St. Louis. Her work tells visual tales through self-portraits, nature photography, and abstract art. She studied photography at St. Louis Community College - Meramec. She self-published two photography books, featuring her photography series, “Hoosier Classy”.
