Janet Grey is a photographer and the creator of @housesofhollywood, an instagram account devoted to capturing the individuality of residential architectural treasures throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

The founder of the international private driver business, TravelDrivers, Janet globetrotted for decades, camera in hand, until Covid brought it all to a screeching halt. Always seeking adventure, she turned her focus closer to home, finding that local neighborhood explorations could be quite interesting and fun! From that, Houses of Hollywood was born.

Grey has photographed more than 6,500 houses across the city, homes of every shape, size, style, and condition—the spectacular, the beautiful, the unexpected and the just plain weird (posted weekly on “What The Heck Wednesdays”).

Her passion for houses made the Eaton Fire feel deeply devastating, and she documented the aftermath extensively. Now she's creating books related to that tragedy, and albums of different LA home styles.
