Since the early 1960s, Ron’s work has evolved from mechanical drafting and hand-drawn concepts and designs into abstract digital art. In 2005, after earning a fine arts degree, he began creating abstract digital art primarily for poster contests. This has become his passion. His work addresses a wide range of recognizable common subjects that capture his imagination, combined with complex abstract backgrounds. He often creates an art series of 12 prints that revolve around specific themes.
Ron usually focuses on one piece at a time to prevent cross pollination of themes or works. His goal is to create a unique piece with no connection to other works. People, places, and things in Ron’s life provide very personal springboards to launch his art. He intends each work to be complex and detailed, often employing textures, colors, and lighting effects to enhance the pieces. A sense of playfulness and whimsy also informs his work.
