As I travel to some unusual places I only photograph with my phone camera ... anything more than that would be too obtrusive and I'd be likely to land in hot water very quickly. This self imposed limitation has a benefit ... it allows me to show a side of life in places like Beirut, Tripoli and Riyadh that is not only off the tourist track but also beyond the day to day routines of many locals. Admittedly in Souk al Haraj that meant that I was flanked by two Saudi women who made sure I was at least as safe as they were (admittedly still not that safe) but for me the results are worth it.
